Tuesday Morning

We have another beautiful sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This one is from DT member, Janice.

A wonderful classic design that gives you the opportunity to use several lovely papers, eh?

I started mine with a cranberry colored card base. I added a layer of patterned paper from Heartfelt Creations. I then cut two pieces of matching papers (green and pink) and matted them with the cranberry. My strip is yet another piece of paper which I also matted with the cranberry. Last of all, I cut an oval image and matted it with the cranberry. The image and all the designer papers are from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony 12 x 12" paper pad.

This is one of those sketches that work on so many levels, and the DT have proved it with their many wonderful designs. You need to take a few minutes and stop by the Tuesday Morning Blog and have a look at all the lovely samples.

There is not a prize this week; however, a "winner" will be selected and have the opportunity to be a guest DT member with us on the blog. If you have ever wanted to be a member of a design team, now is your opportunity to give it a try.

Have fun, and may you have some happy crafting time!

Tuesday Morning and Flowers

Happy Tuesday, y'all! We have a beautiful, classic sketch for you this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. The DT really enjoyed working with this sketch (as can be seen on the blog), and I was no exception. You will be truly surprised at how many different looks you can get with this one sketch.

We also have a fun prize this week:

I started with a blue card base and added a pink background (from my scraps). I then printed my sentiment and cut it into an oval shape. I matted it with a blue oval (same as card base). I added the three pink flowers (Wild Orchid Crafts) and two green leaf sprigs (Martha Stewart punches). Instead of lining up the three pearls along one corner, I added two pearls at opposite corners. This was quick and easy, but oh so pretty and elegant!

Easter Bunny and a Tuesday Morning Sketch

I am getting quite addle brain here lately. I thought I had created this post but, in actuality, I had only posted it to the DT site to be picked up for the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog. So, here is this week's card. The sketch is posted below:

This was actually a fun little sketch to use, and the DT were simply amazing in finding all kinds of different looks for this sketch. We have everything from Easter to barn yard animals. Really cute creations!

I have used a blue card as my base with a panel of Easter candy colored stripes along the side. The cute bunny is pre-colored clip art which I have matted with a piece of dark pink card and added a matching yellow bow to the top.

The egg border at the bottom is also pre-colored clip art which I printed twice and fussy cut so that I could make the curved border across the bottom of the bunny piece. I then typed Happy Easter and cut the fish tail banner. I pretty much followed the sketch to a T, but it really makes for a darling (in my opinion) Easter card. I was quite pleased with the results.

I know I am a day late with this posting, so you may have already visited the Tuesday Morning Sketches site and seen the fun cards the DT put together. However, if you haven't yet ventured over there, please do. I think you will really be inspired.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week, and happy crafting!

Spring Brilliance

We Are 3 digital papers and images is running another quick sale to you with those Easter cards. This set is called Spring Brilliance, and can be found in the We Are 3 Etsy Shop. (Simply click on the Spring Brilliance name above (should show blue) for a direct link to the Etsy page.) This wonderful set is only $1 from now until March 12.

I've created two Easter cards using just a few of the papers you will get in this set. The first card uses three of the papers (the blue background paper, the pink and blue stripe and the green). The second card uses one piece of graphic design paper. You get eight different papers in all -- that's 8 for $1 -- what a bargain.

Still haven't tried the We Are 3 digital papers and images? What are you waiting for? They are so easy to use, and the really great thing is that you can use them over and over as many times as you want. You can even create your complete scrapbook page or card front using the papers and images if you like creating with Photo Shop or a similar digital design program. (Sadly I was never computer savvy enough to master any of those programs, so I simply print off my papers and images and create my cards the old fashion way by cutting and layering by hand - smile!) Whichever way you like to create, the We Are 3 designs are great to work with, and for $1, this is a great time to try them.

Pretty Circles and Flower Pixie

Lots of pictures this morning. This week's sketch is a bit different, but lots of fun to use. Our gift, just in time for Easter, is the beautiful cross set. I used some of the We Are 3 digital papers from the Mod Podge pack.

My base card is a rosy pink card. I added a dry embossed green piece to the top of it, then I cut my circles with my craft punches from scrap pieces of We Are 3 digital papers that I had used for another card. The We Are 3 papers compliment each other beautiful as they are all from the same packet. My image was a freebie that I received from a British company some years ago. I matted it with the blue We Are 3 paper. My sentiment is a stamp. I used black ink on a piece of scrap from the card base. I rounded the corners to carry through with the circle theme.
